David Bedingham has committed his future to Durham by signing a new, three-year contract with the north east club.

South African Bedingham will remain with Durham until at least the end of the 2025 county season after agreeing a three-year extension to his stay at Chester-le-Street.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed a tremendous season with the bat. He sits top of the LV= Insurance County Championship runscoring charts and also contributed 292 in Durham's run to the Royal London Cup final, as well as 298 in the T20 Blast.

Bedingham said: “It feels good to have signed an extension here at Durham, if they had said I’d have been given a contract extension at the start of the year I’d have been delighted, so I’m glad it’s been offered to me and I’m glad that I’ve accepted.

Durham director of cricket Marcus North said: “David has had an outstanding season to date, and we are extremely excited that he has committed his long-term future to Durham.”

“He is continuing to learn and develop his game under James Franklin and his coaching team, and we all look forward to seeing David play a key part in our team’s success during the next few years.”
