Josh Poysden has joined Yorkshire on loan
Yorkshire have signed Josh Poysden on loan from Warwickshire for their upcoming game against Lancashire in the County Championship.
Following Adil Rashid's decision to seek a white-ball only contract this season, Yorkshire have struggled in the spin department and Poysden represents a stop-gap replacement.
The 26-year-old legspinner has been Jeetan Patel's deputy at Edgbaston of late, limiting his chance of gametime and arrives at Headingley with 26 first-class wickets to his name over the course of his career.
Yorkshire director of Martyn Moxon admitted that his side have been short in terms of spin bowling so far in the 2018 Championship campaign.
He said: "We’re pleased to have Josh come in on loan for this game. It’s obviously an area we’ve not quite filled this season from the players that we have got at the club at the moment.

"We feel we need a frontline spinner for this game and we’re delighted that Josh has agreed to join us and that Warwickshire have allowed him to come. We look forward to him hopefully having a successful and enjoyable game for us."
Poysden's one Yorkshire outing is a big one - the Roses encounter with Lancashire at Old Trafford from Sunday.
"I’m really looking forward to playing in such a massive game – a Roses game – so to make my debut in a game like that is very exciting. Hopefully I can contribute towards a big win for the club," the legspinner told the club's official website.
"I’m in the last year of my contract and being second spinner behind Jeetan Patel at Warwickshire, I haven’t really played a huge amount of first-team cricket over the past couple of years, so I was just desperate to come and play some first-team cricket.
"When the opportunity came up at such a big club like Yorkshire and in such a big game, it was really exciting."
