Ellis was on the receiving end of a painful maximum
Jeet Raval hit 149 from 153 deliveries in the Ace's Ford Trophy match, including four sixes, one of which Canterbury bowler Andrew Ellis will not soon forget.
The left-hander's powerful straight drive struck Ellis on the head and deflected for six over long on. In response Raval moved quickly to check on the wellbeing of his opponent.
The Canterbury bowler subsequently left the field of play to undergo a concussion test. Fortunately he was declared medically sound and was able to return to the match.
That is one tough nut. The stroke was recorded as 6, one bounce off Andrew Ellis's scone. Passed the concussion test & carried on....😬 #FordTrophy pic.twitter.com/2zsfLCI3qd

The incident was reminiscent of the horrific blow suffered by Notts' Luke Fletcher in the T20 Blast last year.
Ellis finished with figures of two for 52 from seven overs - including the wicket of Raval in the 48th as Auckland set Canterbury 305 to win.
Raval's innings proved to be crucial as Canterbury were 197 all out in reply as the Aces secured a 107-run victory at Colin Maiden Park.
