Ricardo Vasconcelos has hit two half-centuries in List A cricket and averages 25.56 in the format
Northamptonshire have signed South African wicketkeeper Ricardo Vasconcelos.
The 20-year-old, who is currently on the books of Boland in his home country, is available for the whole of Northants' Royal London One-Day Cup campaign and the T20 Blast, should he be required.
Vasconcelos has hit two half-centuries in List A cricket and averages 25.56 in the format. He has only featured for Boland in T20 matches on two occasions.
“I am very excited to have the opportunity to represent Northants, it is a massive opportunity that I hope to grab with both hands,” he told the club's official website.
“I am looking forward to work with and learn from some of the more experienced players so that I can accelerate my growth as a player as quickly as possible. I am also eager to try and contribute as much as I can to the teams success.”
Northamptonshire head coach David Ripley said: “He’s a young, hungry cricketer who’s able to provide wicket-keeper cover and push the guys for batting spots. It’s great to have him on board”.
