More than half of Brits find cricket boring, according to a recent YouGov poll.
A survey of 1,616 men and women, all aged 18 or over, put the sport as the dullest of 17 options presented to participants with 58 per cent saying it was "very boring" or "quite boring" to watch.
A further 17 per cent said the game was "neither boring nor exciting" from a spectator's viewpoint, with just 22 per cent insisting they were entertained by leather and willow.
The results were outdone only by two sports, of the 17 included in the vote.
Golf was said to be "very boring" or "quite boring" by 70 per cent of respondents, while American Football got a boredom rating of 59 per cent.
Darts was level with cricket on 58 per cent, with snooker not far behind on 57 per cent.
The sport which the fewest voters deemed "very boring" or "quite boring" was athletics, with 47 per cent of participants saying it is "very exciting" or "quite exciting".
The poll was conducted with 782 men and 834 women and took place the week after the first Ashes Test in November.
