Jofra Archer has pulled out of the upcoming Hong Kong Blitz, according to reports.

The allrounder, who recently earned himself a bumper IPL payday with Rajasthan Royals off the back of a formidable showing in the Big Bash, was due to play for Galaxy Gladiators Lantau in this week's tournament.

However, the Barbados-born starlet will no longer feature after he sustained an ankle injury, with Anton Devcich drafted in as his replacement.

Archer has now returned to his county side Sussex for treatment ahead of joining the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League in March.

A Sussex statement read: "Jofra Archer has withdrawn from this weekend’s Hong Kong T20 Blitz through injury.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to play for Galaxy Gladiators Lantau in the tournament but has been ruled out as a result of an injury to his left ankle.

He has returned to Sussex to be assessed and receive treatment.

Archer will form part of the Quetta Gladiators squad for their first four matches in the Pakistan Super League later this month.

He will then rejoin Sussex for their pre-season preparations before heading to the Indian Premier League where he is part of the Rajasthan Royals squad."
