Sean Ervine has signed a loan deal with Derbyshire.
The Zimbabwean allrounder will be available for the final six County Championship matches of the season, starting with the clash with Sussex which is due to begin on Sunday.
Ervine arrives from Hampshire, where he has fallen out of favour in 2018, and brings with him a career haul of 11,339 first-class runs.
Derbyshire captain Billy Godleman said: "We have six Specsavers County Championship games remaining this season and we still have plenty to play for.

Ervine has been out of favour at Hampshire
"With Luis [Reece] still recovering from injury, we wanted to bring in an experienced head to strengthen our line-up and Sean fits the bill with both bat and ball.
"He’s a winner and hungry to score runs and take wickets, I’m sure he’ll do a great job out in the middle for us, as well as pass on his knowledge in the dressing room."
Ervine said: "I’m excited and grateful to get the opportunity to play some regular first-class cricket at Derbyshire.
"The aim now is to be as competitive as possible in the final run of games and see where that can take us."
