Barbados Tridents have been forced to replace Wahab Riaz and Imad Wasim duo to international commitments.

The Pakistani left-arm pair had been due to represent Jason Holder’s Tridents side, who claimed the wooden spoon in last year’s competition.

They have been replaced by South Africa allrounder JP Duminy and Australian seamer Josh Lalor, neither of whom have ever played in the Caribbean Premier League before now.

Duminy comes in for Wasim – not quite a like-for-like change, though the South African’s off-breaks have proven more than useful in white-ball cricket.

The experienced left-hander retired from international cricket following the conclusion of the summer’s World Cup, where he – alongside his Proteas side – endured a disappointing tournament.

Lalor, meanwhile, impressed in the 2018 edition of the Big Bash, where he took 20 wickets for Brisbane Heat. Only three players managed more across the competition.

In February, he claimed the fourth hat-trick in Big Bash history, dismissing Andrew Tye, Matt Kelly and Nick Hobson across two overs.
