Yorkshire have signed South Africa allrounder Donovan Ferreira for the 2024 T20 Blast.

He will link up with the squad ahead of Yorkshire's tournament opener against Worcestershire on May 30.

The 25-year-old, who not only bats and bowls right-arm off-spin but can also keep wicket, earned two T20I caps for the Proteas last September and recently helped Joburg Super Kings reach the knockout stages of the 2024 SA20.

He hit the headlines when he blasted an 18-ball half-century from the middle order against Pretoria Capitals and finished the competition with 125 runs at a strike rate above 170 from seven innings as well as eight catches and one stumping.

Over the course of his 51-match T20 career, he boasts an average of 30.23 and a strike rate above 150 with the bat. With the ball, he has 10 wickets with an economy of 6.96.

On joining Yorkshire, Ferreira, who has previously played in the CPL and is part of Rajasthan Royals' squad for the upcoming IPL, said: "I'm really looking forward to joining up with Yorkshire at Headingley, and having an impact for the side.

"Headingley is an iconic and special place to play, and I'm excited to be part of such a prestigious club."

Managing director, Darren Gough, added: "I'm pleased to have secured Donovan for the T20 Blast.

"He is an exciting addition to the team, and his all-round abilities and consistent performances in various international franchise leagues are indicators that he has a significant career ahead in cricket."
