Worcestershire name Ashley Giles as chief executive

The former England international has previously held coaching and director positions with Lancashire and Warwickshire as well as working as managing director of England Men at the ECB between December 2018 and February 2022

Worcestershire have appointed Ashley Giles as the club's new chief executive.

He will take up the position on July 3, 2023.

The former England international has previously held coaching and director positions with Lancashire and Warwickshire as well as working as managing director of England Men at the ECB between December 2018 and February 2022.

At Worcestershire, he will oversee the management of the club as well as working on the development and growth of cricket with both the men's and women's senior squads and the club's pathways.

Commenting on his appointment, Giles said: "I am absolutely honoured and thrilled to join Worcestershire as its chief executive officer.

"Having resided in Worcestershire for 25 years, having married and raised my children here, I have developed a deep appreciation for the club’s rich history and recognise the immense potential for an exciting and promising future.

"I am eager to make a meaningful contribution to the club's growth and success and am looking forward to the opportunity to connect with our passionate members and supporters, and collaborate with the entire club community to ensure exceptional performance both on and off the field."
