Warwickshire have signed India allrounder Jayant Yadav for their final three matches of the LV= Insurance County Championship.

The 32-year-old is in line to make his debut against Somerset at Edgbaston on September 12 and will also be available to face Gloucestershire and Hampshire.

Though new to English domestic cricket, Yadav will add experience to Warwickshire's squad and has scored 2,194 runs at 25.51 and taken 173 wickets at 31.83 across his first-class career.

Since making his international debut in 2016, he has played six Tests and two ODIs for India, scoring 248 runs (including one century) and taking 16 wickets in the former. His most recent Test outing came against Sri Lanka in March 2022.

He will be joined at Warwickshire by fellow India international Mohammed Siraj, who is also available for the final three red-ball fixtures.

Commenting on joining Warwickshire, Yadav said: "This will be my first County Championship experience and I'm incredibly excited to join up with the squad for the final three games.

"When I was asked if I would like to join Warwickshire it was something I couldn't say no to. Having played my sixth Test earlier this year, I believe these three games will help me improve my game for more opportunities in the near future.

"I have never played at Edgbaston, but I have heard great things about the stadium and it will be a privilege to call it my home."

Director of cricket, Paul Farbrace, added: "Jayant is another fantastic addition to the squad, and we're excited to welcome him to Warwickshire.

"Jayant has played Test cricket this year and adding his first-class experience to our bowling attack could be vital in the final three games.

"It was vitally important that we strengthened our bowling line-up for the run-in and the signing of Jayant, plus Siraj gives us an enviable array of options."
