Hodgson, who took over the reigns at The Oval following the departure of Richard Gould to Bristol City Football Club earlier this year, has been appointed chief executive at SACA
Surrey interim chief executive Charlie Hodgson will leave the club in the new year to join the South Australia Cricket Association.
He had previously been commercial director and managing director at Surrey, and has spent 17 years with the county.
Hodgson has played a major role in the club growing their membership base, generating considerable interest in T20 Blast matches at The Oval, and diversifying its business model.
He will hand over to incoming chief executive Steve Elworthy, who is joining from the ECB, in January, before relocating to Australia.
Hodgson is the successor to the hugely popular Keith Bradshaw, the former MCC CEO who died in November after a long illness.
Chairman Richard Thompson said: "From the under nines to present day, Charlie has Surrey in his blood.
"He delivered the job of interim chief executive this year - in the most challenging of times - with distinction and an enormous level of commitment."
