Kent have secured the services of New Zealand international Ben Lister until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old left-arm seamer will be available for Kent's final three County Championship fixtures in September and could also be available during their One-Day Cup title defence, subject to an agreement with Cricket New Zealand.

Lister has taken 67 first-class wickets in 29 matches at an average of 27.13, with best innings figures of 5 for 29.

In List A cricket, he has 50 wickets with an economy of 5.47 from 43 matches, including one wicket in one ODI for New Zealand.

Lister is a two-time winner of New Zealand's premier domestic 50-over competition, the Ford Trophy, having competed in the 2018 and 2020 finals, respectively.

On completing the deal, Lister said: "I'm really keen to be playing in the County Championship for the first time this September, as well as maybe helping us to defend our 50-over title this year.

"This is a club with a big history and I am excited to play for Kent."

Kent's director of cricket, Paul Downton, added: "We're delighted that Ben will be joining us for our Championship run-in in September, and to also have him available for a part of the One-Day Cup.

"He is a rising talent in New Zealand cricket as a multi-format bowler. His left-arm seam will provide an added dimension to our bowling attack."
