The former England batting coach is due to begin his stint working with the Middlesex players next week
Mark Ramprakash is to return to Middlesex as a batting consultant this winter.
Ramprakash, who scored more than 15,000 first-class runs and 46 first-class centuries for the county, will join the setup following the sacking of head coach Stuart Law.
The former England batting coach is due to begin his stint working with the Middlesex players next week.
He said: "I am delighted to have been asked to wear the three Seaxes again and support the Middlesex players and staff in their winter programme.
"They are a talented bunch and I look forward to helping them in their journey to be the best they can be and achieve their potential."
Law was dismissed in October, three years into a four-year contract.
Mark Ramprakash is going back to Middlesex
Middlesex are not believed to be in any rush to make a long-term appointment, with Alan Coleman currently occupying the head coach role on an interim basis.
Several names have been linked with the position, including the Warwickshire sport director Paul Farbrace and the Sri Lanka head coach Micky Arthur.
However, sources within the club have indicated that the future structure of the coaching staff remains a matter for discussion.
Middlesex did not reach the knockout stage of either white-ball competition in 2021 and ended the County Championship campaign in the bottom of the three second-phase groups.
There is, however, a core of fine young players at the club, of whom much is expected. Time spent working with Ramprakash will surely be beneficial for the likes of Joe Cracknell, Max Holden, Jack Davies and Josh de Caires - the son of former England captain Michael Atherton.
Coleman said of the appointment: "His knowledge of batting at Lord’s will be invaluable, and I’m certain his energy and love of the game will rub off on our group. It’ll will be a pleasure for us all to work with him, and I can’t wait to see him in action."
