The wicketkeeper, who signed from Hampshire, would have been out of contract at the end of the upcoming season but will now remain for at least another year
Lewis McManus has set his stall out to take Northamptonshire back to Division One after extending his deal at the county.
The wicketkeeper, who signed from Hampshire, would have been out of contract at the end of the upcoming season but will now remain for at least another year.
Northamptonshire, who have seen Josh Cobb leave and Karun Nair and Sikandar Raza announced as overseas signings in recent days, were relegated from the top tier of the County Championship in 2023.
"After a frustrating season last year, I'm feeling really optimistic about the upcoming campaign and I'm determined, alongside the rest of my teammates, to get this club back to Division One where we belong," said McManus.

John Sadler, the club's head coach, described McManus as "a massive part" of his squad and "a leader in the dressing room".
"Last year was tough for him, but he's taken himself off to India and we've made some technical changes to his game which we're already seeing the positive signs from and he's ready to really kick on."
McManus averaged just 12.3 with the bat last summer in first-class cricket and for the first time since 2017 failed to make a half century in the Championship. He was ever-present for Northants in the Blast.
