The club offer their "sincere condolences" after the death of former treasurer and vice chairman aged 71
David Hodgkiss, the Lancashire chairman, has died aged 71 the club have confirmed.
Hodgkiss join the Old Trafford club in 1998 and occupied several roles behind the scenes.
He served on the board as a non-executive director for more than 20 years, which included spells as honorary treasurer and vice-chairman.
In 2017, he succeeded Michael Cairns as club chairman.
A statement read: "He was much loved by everyone at Lancashire cricket club and respected throughout the cricketing world.
"Our sincere condolences and thoughts and prayers are with his family.
"A further statement will be released in due course but at this time we ask that everybody respects the family’s privacy."
