A life member since 1990, a former director of Oldham Athletic football club and honorary treasure since 2017, Taylor fills the role previously held by Howard Milton
Kent have installed Derek Taylor as the club's vice president.
Taylor served as president in 2021, has been a life member since 1990, became a part of the committee in 2010 and honorary treasurer in 2017.
The appointment follows confirmation in December that Chris Cowdrey will serve as club president in 2023, after spending a year as deputy president to Vvonne Neame.
"I am extremely pleased to have the great honour of being made a vice president of this great club," said Taylor, a former director of Oldham Athletic Football Club.
"I am delighted to confirm his appointment as a vice president of the club in recognition of the years of service he has given."
"I have loved every day of my involvement with Kent cricket and look forward to many more years of helping with the great work the club is doing to promote this great game throughout the county."
Chair Simon Philip said: "Derek has served the committee for some years and since 2017 has been an invaluable supporter to me knowing the club’s finances were being well controlled and supervised.”
