Leicestershire have signed Joey Evison on a six-week loan from Nottinghamshire.

The 20-year-old allrounder will be available to the Running Foxes for the remainder of the T20 Blast group stage.

Evison could also play in the four-day India tour match and the LV= Insurance County Championship matches against Sussex and Glamorgan next month.

He is scheduled to return to Trent Bridge in time for the start of the One-Day Cup.

The Lincolnshire pathway product and ex-England Under-19 international made a barnstorming start to the new season by hitting a maiden first-class century in the opening Championship fixture of the campaign against Sussex.

He followed that up with figures of 3 for 67 in defeat to Glamorgan but has seen opportunities limited by injury and a spell with the second XI T20 side.

Across 13 senior matches, Evison has scored 465 runs and taken 25 wickets.

"I am very grateful to Leicestershire for giving me the opportunity to express myself as a player and continue my development," he said.

"I am really looking forward to working with the coaches here and am excited to get going."

Director of cricket Claude Henderson added: "We are very excited that Joey has decided to join us over the next month.

"We are really pleased we can offer him the opportunity to play first-team cricket and we look forward to seeing what he can contribute to the side."
