Jack Campbell has been released by Durham with immediate effect.

The 22-year-old, who joined the club in 2018, has made one first-class, five List A and two T20 appearances for Durham, taking eight wickets.

His most recent appearance for the club came in August 2021, when he featured in the Royal London Cup semi-final against Surrey.

Campbell, a former England Under-19 international, chose to leave Chester-le-Street in order to "explore new opportunities", according to a statement released by the club.

In May 2022, he turned out for Hampshire against a Sri Lanka development XI, returning figures of 0 for 17 from 5.3 overs and taking one catch.
