Gloucestershire have confirmed their third overseas signing for the 2024 season.

As previously reported by The Cricketer, Australian allrounder Beau Webster will call Bristol home during the T20 Blast. He will also be available for Gloucestershire's two County Championship outings in June, against Yorkshire and Glamorgan.

He joins compatriot Cameron Bancroft and Pakistan international Zafar Gohar in Gloucestershire's overseas ranks.

The 30-year-old has made 76 T20 appearances across his career, scoring 1,395 runs at a strike rate just under 120 and taking 15 wickets with an economy of 7.12 with his mixture of right-arm medium pace and right-arm off-spin.

In first-class cricket, meanwhile, he has scored 4,232 runs at 34.97 and taken 99 wickets at 44.02 in 79 matches.

His previous experience of county cricket came for Essex, whom he represented in last year's One-Day Cup. He scored 260 runs and took 14 wickets in eight appearances.

Webster said: "I'm looking forward to not only developing my game further in the UK but also to playing a part in helping the team win matches during my time here. I can't wait to meet my teammates and get started."

Head coach, Mark Alleyne, added: "Beau is an incredibly well-rounded player who is experienced across all formats and offers a great option with both the bat and the ball.

"He's enjoyed a good season in the Big Bash League and will bring with him a lot of knowledge of playing in T20 franchise cricket, particularly in Australia.

"Beau is a tall, powerful player who can have a terrific impact on a game, and has I'm really excited to have Beau join us for the Vitality Blast and to see him help win cricket matches for Gloucestershire."
