Eddie Byrom has signed a two-year contract extension with Glamorgan, which will keep him at Sophia Gardens until 2025.

The 26-year-old batter joined the Welsh county on loan from Somerset at the back end of the 2021 County Championship before signing a two-year deal ahead of the 2022 campaign.

Byrom has scored 1,029 runs at 42.87, including two centuries and seven half-centuries, in 16 first-class matches. In five matches in 2023, he has scored 290 runs at 41.42, with four half-centuries in nine innings.

He is yet to make his debut in the One-Day Cup but has featured 15 times in the T20 Blast, scoring 187 runs.

On committing his future to Glamorgan, Byrom said: "I'm very excited to add another two years onto my contract and I've absolutely loved my time at the club so far. I'm really looking forward to the next two years.

"I love batting here. It's a great place to bat and I'm loving my role at the top of the order. Hopefully I've got a lot of big scores to come."

Director of cricket, Mark Wallace, added: "Eddie has been a great addition to the squad both on and off the pitch since joining us a few years ago.

"He has the potential to keep improving and move on to the next level, and we're delighted to have him staying in Wales for the next few years."
