Worcestershire have secured the service of Dwayne Bravo for this season's T20 Blast.

The West Indian quick has the most wickets in the 20-over format, with 571 scalps in 522 matches.

Bravo has won 16 major T20 titles including two World Cups, three IPL crowns, the CPL five times, two BBLs and one each in the PSL and BPL.

After spells with Kent, Essex, Surrey and Middlesex, he arrives at New Road for his fifth county jaunt.

He joins New Zealander Colin Munro as the club's second overseas player for the Blast.

The move came to fruition following talks between Bravo and Moeen Ali during the Bangladesh Premier League earlier this year.

Moeen's Comilla Victorians went on to scoop the title with victory over Fortune Barishal, who were spearheaded by the 38-year-old Bravo.

But the Rapids are set to have both available next season, following the conclusion of their IPL commitments with defending champions Chennai Super Kings.

"When Moeen mentioned the possibility of me coming over for the Blast whilst we were both at BPL, it was an opportunity I wanted to seriously look at," he said. "It’s great that it has all come together.

"The Vitality Blast is one of the domestic T20 titles that I am yet to win and I will be working hard to help the team achieve success."

It is hoped that Bravo will be available for at least 10 group matches, including the knock-out stage if Worcestershire progress.

The IPL playoffs clash with the start of the Blast in the last week of May. Bravo's debut has therefore been pencilled in for the visit of Birmingham Bears on June 3 but could come sooner depending on CSK's progress.

Cricket Steering Group chair Paul Pridgeon added: "Dwayne is a superb death bowler and hard-hitting middle-order batsman and has enormous experience from playing for his country and in T20 cricket worldwide.

"Moeen has been playing in the Bangladesh Premier League with Dwayne Bravo this winter, has been talking to him and said ‘come and play for us’ – and he agreed."
