The Cricketer’s website has been named the best place to read about county cricket online for the sixth year in a row.
Our digital team have won the Outstanding Online Coverage of Domestic Cricket prize at the ECB Domestic Cricket Journalism Awards for 2023, with judges praising our commitment to both the men's and women's game in the UK.
Digital editor Nick Howson collected the award, which The Cricketer has won every year since 2018, during a ceremony held at The Oval this afternoon.
"This is further recognition of our talent, dedication and drive to break stories, set agendas and present a complete picture of the domestic scene, overwhelming bigger, better-resourced organisations year after year," said Nick, pictured centre at the awards.
"Whether it be digital or magazine editorial, social media, digital and audio output, or anything else which supplements our platforms, we remain the standard and all of our team's hard work is ultimately responsible for that."
In their remarks, the judges said: "In a year when they had their hands full with plenty of international cricket including men's and women's Ashes series, The Cricketer again gave domestic cricket room to breathe online with regular and consistently high-quality coverage across the wide spectrum of the game.
"Their commitment to domestic cricket from the Championship to The Hundred to the Charlotte Edwards Trophy and beyond is why they are deserved winners."
As we move into the start of the new English season, The Cricketer remains committed to having reporters on the ground at every round of county fixtures this summer – and to covering all 18 teams, all year round.
