The Cricketer wraps up the best of the action on day one of the fifth round of LV= Insurance County Championship matches in 2023
New Road (first day of four): Worcestershire 264, Sussex 63-1 - Sussex trail by 201 runs with nine wickets remaining
England pace bowler Ollie Robinson produced a superb performance in front of his new team-mate Steve Smith as Sussex collected maximum bowling points in the LV= Insurance County Championship encounter with Worcestershire at New Road.
Much of the pre-match attention focused on Smith and his three-match tenure with Sussex ahead of the forthcoming World Test Championship final with India and the Ashes.
But the former Australian captain spent much of the day looking on admiringly at second slip of the skills of someone who will be one of his adversaries during the five-game series.
Robinson was a class above any other bowler on display, bowling an immaculate line and extracting extra bounce and he finished with 7 for 59 from 17 overs as Worcestershire were dismissed for 264 after being put in.
He picked up the first four wickets to fall and then wrapped up the innings with the final three in the space of seven balls.
But in between half centuries from Adam Hose, his first for his new county, Matthew Waite and Joe Leach helped Worcestershire to recover from 44 for 5.
Sussex did well to negotiate the new ball for the loss of only Tom Clark in reaching 63 for 1 from 20 overs before bad light ended day with Smith due to bat at No.5 tomorrow.

Derby (first day of four): Leicestershire 122, Derbyshire 144-3 - Derbyshire lead by 22 runs with seven wickets remaining
A career-best performance by Henry Brookes brought Leicestershire back down to earth as Derbyshire dominated the opening day of the LV= Insurance County Championship match at Derby.
The 23-year-old Warwickshire fast bowler marked the first game of a short loan spell by taking 6 for 20 in 12 overs, five of them maidens, to send Leicestershire tumbling from 45 without loss to 122 all out.
On his first appearance of the season, Brookes showed impressive control to record the second best figures on debut for Derbyshire who rammed home their advantage by closing on 144 for 3, a lead of 22.
Harry Came and Haider Ail shared a century opening stand and although Wiaan Mulder struck twice in an over, it was very much Derbyshire's day.

Headingley (first day of four): Glamorgan 245, Yorkshire 62-5 - Yorkshire trail by 183 runs with five wickets remaining
Jonny Bairstow claimed three catches behind the stumps and finished two not out on his return to competitive action following more than eight months out injured as Glamorgan had the better of a 15-wicket first day against Yorkshire at Headingley.
One of Bairstow's catches was a one-handed stunner diving to his left, another helped claim the wicket of Ashes rival Marnus Labuschagne for 65, and he ended the day repelling another Australian in Michael Neser (3 for 15 from seven overs).
In Glamorgan's 245 all out to start this LV= Insurance County Championship fixture, Yorkshire's towering Aussie quick Mickey Edwards impressed with 3 for 54 from 15 overs. Fellow seamer George Hill also struck three times.
But Yorkshire closed their reply an overcast day in trouble at 62 for 5 from 22 overs. England's Bairstow came in at No.7 behind two nightwatchmen and faced seven balls.
