Alec Stewart has returned to full-time work at Surrey after a leave of absence to care for his wife.

On Wednesday (February 22), Surrey confirmed that their director of cricket has resumed his duties at the Kia Oval as the county ramps up preparations for the new campaign.

In a statement, the club said that Lynn's situation had improved enough for Stewart to carry out his role as normal.
Stewart said: "I want to thank everyone for their well-wishes and thoughts during a difficult time.
"I am thankful for the club's understanding, and I look forward to the season ahead."
Surrey's County Championship title defence is set to begin on Thursday, April 6 with a difficult trip to Emirates Old Trafford to face Lancashire.
