Notts were chasing an unlikely 387 and started the day on 135 for 4, but were bowled out for 243 two overs into the afternoon
Scarborough: Yorkshire 232 & 338, Nottinghamshire 184 & 243 - Yorkshire win by 143 runs
Yorkshire claimed the six wickets they needed to secure their fifth Specsavers County Championship win of the season, beating struggling Nottinghamshire at Scarborough by 143 runs shortly after lunch on day four.
Notts, chasing an unlikely 387 - only once had they scored more in any Division One innings this season, started the day on 135 for 4 and were bowled out for 243 two overs into the afternoon.
Ben Duckett was unbeaten on 47, but he fell for an entertaining innings high 75 off 110 balls.
Liam Patterson-White, aged 20, also impressed on the way to his maiden fifty in his third game - 58 not out off 134.
For Yorkshire, South African Test left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj finished with 6-95 from 30 overs, including four on day four.
Yorkshire's haul of 20 points maintains their place in third place after 11 games, and they will head into the final three rounds 37 points behind leaders Essex.
Winless Notts, who claimed three points, will end the day with the gap between themselves and second-bottom Warwickshire at at least 42 points.
Yorkshire had to wait 50 minutes for the breakthrough, which came in Duanne Olivier's second over when Duckett got a leading edge as he looked to turn to leg, only for Will Fraine to take a smart tumbling catch at point.
That left the visitors at 181 for 5 in the 55th over, the 13th of the day, and ended a 78-run stand between Duckett and Patterson-White.
Olivier's compatriot Maharaj then struck four overs later when Tom Moores turned his left-arm spin to short-leg, where Fraine took his second catch of the morning (187 for 6 in the 59th).
Inside the final half-hour of regular time in the morning, Patterson-White reached his maiden fifty off 98 balls with an arrow straight six off Maharaj which thudded into the wall below the press box at the Peasholm Park End of the ground.

Tim Bresnan's third ball of the day yielded the wicket of Paul Coughlin, caught at second slip by Adam Lyth as he tried to leave alone, with Notts now 218 for 7 in the 70th over.
Shortly before, Coughlin had been struck on the helmet by an Olivier bouncer.
Maharaj then picked up his fourth wicket of the innings by bowling Luke Wood with a sharp turner - 219 for 8 in the 71st.
Lunch was delayed by 15 minutes to see if the game could be finished, but Yorkshire's ninth and 10th wickets came with successive deliveries in the 79th over when Maharaj trapped Luke Fletcher lbw and had Jake Ball caught behind.
The left-armer has taken 28 wickets in four games as Yorkshire's overseas player.
Notts are rooted to the foot of Division One, but they showed signs of encouragement in this game.
They will, however, rue allowing Yorkshire to recover from 13 for 4 and 38 for 5 in the first innings to post 232. Then, in their reply, they slipped from 41 without loss to 184 all out.
In the next round of fixtures (September 10-13), after the conclusion of the Vitality Blast group stage and the quarter-finals, Yorkshire travel to Taunton to face Somerset, while Notts host Kent at Trent Bridge.
Taunton will be Maharaj's last game before resuming international commitments.
