MCC has named the squad which will take on Surrey in the annual Champion County in March.

The match is set to be held at the ICC Global Cricket Academy in Dubai, and will take place on Sunday, March 24.

England and Nottinghamshire bowler Stuart Broad was announced as captain of the side, which also features players from Essex, Somerset, Lancashire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire, earlier in February.

Somerset's Dom Bess has been named in the side and will be making his second Champion County match appearance for MCC having scored a century back in 2018 against Essex.

He will not be the only player, however, making their second appearance for MCC in the Champion County match, as his Somerset teammate Peter Trego has also been included, having also featured in the 2013 fixture.

MCC assistant secretary John Stephenson said: "This is a talented and exciting team which we’re very much looking forward to seeing take on Surrey.

"This group boasts plenty of experience in county cricket and we are fortunate to have Stuart Broad to lead the team as captain. He will be able to pass on some of his knowledge to the younger players in the side."

The full squad: Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire)*, Tom Abell (Somerset), Dominic Sibley (Warwickshire), Tom Westley (Essex), Dan Lawrence (Essex), Will Rhodes (Warwickshire), Peter Trego (Somerset), Ben Cox (Worcestershire), Dominic Bess (Somerset), Stephen Parry (Lancashire), Sam Cook (Essex)
