Somerset have handed a contract extension to Tim Groenewald, keeping the seamer with the county until 2019.
Groenewald, who arrived in Taunton from Derbyshire in 2014, has taken more than 150 wickets across cricket’s three formats during his time at the County Ground.
And fans of the West Country club will be looking forward to seeing the 34-year-old in action for two more years after he agreed to stay on.
“I’m really happy to be staying at the club. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Somerset and I wouldn’t want to play for anyone else. It’s an ambitious club and no one involved is happy to settle for second best,” Groenewald said.

Groenewald has been at Somerset since 2014
“Everyone works incredibly hard and wants only the best for the club and the supporters. We’ve got the best supporters in the country and we all want to fulfil what they want, and that is success for the club. Hopefully we can repay them for their great support in the next few years.”
Somerset director of cricket Andy Hurry said: “Since joining the club Tim has been a consistent performer across all three formats.
“He has a vast amount of experience and has become an integral part of the team both on and off the field. He has proven to be a great asset for the club and it’s great news for the club that Tim has committed his immediate future to the club.”
