Essex v Kent

Where: Chelmsford

When: Monday, 27 May-Thursday, 30 May

Lowdown: The hosts recorded their first win of the season against Nottinghamshire, while Kent will want to avoid having to repeat their stubborn final day performance against Surrey.

One to watch: Simon Harmer. Took 6-60 against Notts to record his ninth haul of five wickets or more since 2017, more than any other County Championship bowler in that period.

Weather: Cloudy for much of the match with rain intefering later on, temperatures in the high teens.

Yorkshire v Hampshire

Where: Headingley

When: Monday, 27 May-Thursday, 30 May

Lowdown: Third plays second as undefeated Yorkshire host Hampshire who hold a 20-point lead over their opponents heading into this one.

One to watch: Ajinkya Rahane. The Indian batsman hit a century on debut and steadied the ship with Sam Northeast after a rocky beginning for Hampshire against Nottinghamshire.

Weather: Cloudy with sunny intervals for much of the match but threat of rain later on, temperatures in the lower teens.

Warwickshire v Surrey

Where: Edgbaston Cricket Ground

When: Monday, 27 May-Thursday, 30 May

Lowdown: Both sides are winless, but Surrey will look to put their Kent frustrations behind them while Warwickshire remain at the foot of the table.

One to watch: Scott Borthwick. The batsman chipped in with a half-century in each innings and shared a huge partnership with Will Jacks.

Weather: Dry and cloudy for most of the match, with some sunny intervals. Rain expected later on, temperatures in the low teens.

DIVISION TWO

Gloucestershire v Lancashire

Where: Cheltenham College

When: Monday, 27 May-Thursday, 30 May

Lowdown: Top of the table Lancashire face promotion chasers Gloucestershire, with both sides undefeated so far this season.

One to watch: James Anderson. The England seamer took his 46th first-class haul of five wickets or more against Worcestershire in the previous round. 

Weather: Mostly cloudy, with intermittent sunny and rainy spells, temperatures of around 15 degrees Celsius.

Prediction: Lancashire to continue their 100% record.

Leicestershire v Derbyshire

Where: Grace Road

When: Monday, 27 May-Thursday, 30 May

Lowdown: Both sides have identical records and are on the same number of points as eighth plays seventh.

One to watch: Mohammad Abbas. Looked world class as he took five wickets in the match, including the dismissal of Sam Robson off the first ball of the match.

Weather: Mostly cloudy, with intermittent sunny spells and rain arriving late on in the match. Temperatures in the mid teens.

Prediction: Leicestershire. Just.

Sussex v Glamorgan

Where: Hove

When: Monday, 27 May-Thursday, 30 May

Lowdown: Sussex were close to entering the promotion race in the last round while Glamorgan will look to continue their unbeaten run.

One to watch: Tom Cullen. The wicketkeeper was Glamorgan's hero as his career-best 51 not out secured victory for Glamorgan against Derbyshire last time out.

Weather: Mostly cloudy throughout the match, although sunny spells and rain are possible earlier on. Temperature highs of 16 degrees Celsius.

Prediction: Sussex to end Glamorgan's unbeaten run.

Worcestershire v Middlesex

Where: New Road

When: Monday, 27 May-Thursday, 30 May

Lowdown: Second plays second bottom but it was Worcestershire who suffered defeat in the last round to Lancashire while Middlesex drew with Leicestershire.

One to watch: Charlie Morris. Took four wickets in the first innings against Lancashire but may need to take another step up with Wayne Parnell's possible absence.

Weather: Mostly cloudy with intermittent showers possible, temperatures in the mid teens.
