The Cricketer wraps up the best of the action on day one of the fourth round of LV= Insurance County Championship matches in 2023
Chester-le-Street (first day of four): Durham 410-8, Derbyshire
Ollie Robinson scored his first century for Durham to hand the hosts a strong start to their LV= Insurance County Championship Division Two match against Derbyshire at Seat Unique Riverside.
After a solid start, Durham were reduced to 126 for 4, but Robinson ensured that his team capitalised after winning the toss with a blistering century from 93 balls before he was dismissed for 114.
Brydon Carse backed up his team-mate with flowing innings of 77 not out, notching his second first-class fifty in a row to allow the home side to post 410 for 8 on day one.
Ben Aitchison was the best of the Derbyshire bowlers with 3 for 111, while Luis Reece and Zak Chappell also claimed strikes apiece, but it was a tough day for the visitors amid aggressive batting from the hosts.

Bristol (first day of four): Sussex 47-1, Gloucestershire
Gloucestershire's misfortune with the weather continued as only 16 overs were possible on the opening day of the County Championship match with Sussex at Bristol.
Having seen their opening home game against Yorkshire washed out without a ball bowled and then been denied a probably victory at Worcester by rain, the hosts suffered more frustration when covers were brought on at the Seat Unique Stadium with little more than an hour played.
Sussex had reached 47 for 1 when the drizzle started. As forecast, it turned into heavier rain by early afternoon and further saturated an outfield, which was soft at the outset.
Umpires Billy Taylor and Mark Newell took the decision to abandon play for the day at 3.15pm, by which time there was casual water on several areas and seagulls wading on the covers.
Orr was unbeaten on 31, having looked in good touch, while Tom Alsop was 11 not out.

Leicester (first day of four): Leicestershire 241-5, Glamorgan
Leicestershire just about had the upper hand on a rain-affected opening day of their County Championship against Glamorgan after skipper Lewis Hill and former captain Colin Ackermann had shared a 100-run partnership.
Their third-wicket stand provided the main substance in a total of 241 for 5 as a continuation of the wet spring weather limited play to 66.2 overs.
Hill followed his career-best unbeaten 162 against Derbyshire two weeks ago with a second half-century of the season. The in-form Ackermann, after scores of 67, 72 and 114 in his three previous innings this season, added 45 to raise his tally for the season to 298.
His fellow Netherlands international Timm van der Gugten, with 4 for 31, was the pick of the Glamorgan bowlers, taking two wickets before lunch and another two in the afternoon to keep the home side in check.
