Cardiff (third day of four): Glamorgan 242 & 319, Sussex 203 & 27-1 - Sussex need 332 truns to win

Sam Northeast's first century of the season put Glamorgan in a commanding position, setting Sussex a target of 359 in the final innings to win this game.

Glamorgan captain Kiran Carlson changed the tempo of the innings with his half century at faster than a run-a-ball, before leaving it to Northeast to finish the job with 104 and set things up nicely for the final day's play.

The victory target is a tall order in 113 overs on a wicket that remains hard to score on, as Sussex finished on 27 for 1, losing opener Tom Haines caught slip off Australian leg-spinner Mitch Swepson. Sussex trail by 331.

Australian Nathan McAndrew was the pick of the Sussex bowlers getting his second four-wicket haul of the match, while off spinner Jack Carlson toiled manfully through 28 overs for a return of 1 for 92 as the rest of the wickets were shared.

Leicester (third day of four): Durham 517-6d & 296-2, Leicestershire 422 - Durham lead by by 391 runs with eight wickets remaining

Division Two leaders Durham will seek to turn a lead of 391 runs into a fifth win of the season on the final day of their LV= Insurance County Championship meeting with Leicestershire after opener Alex Lees posted his second hundred of the match.

Lees, who made 101 in the first innings, was stranded on 99 when bad light threatened to end play earlier, but after stewing in the dressing room for almost three quarters of an hour was able to celebrate shortly after the resumption.

The left-hander, scoring tons in each innings for the first time in his first-class career, finished on 138 not out with David Bedingham unbeaten on 112, the third-wicket pair having added 212 so far as Durham closed on 296 for 2.

Worcester (third day of four): Worcestershire 237 & 70-2, Derbyshire 578-5d - Worcestershire trail by 271 runs with eight wickets remaining

Captain Leus du Plooy struck his maiden double century as Derbyshire took control of a record-breaking day against Worcestershire in the LV= Insurance County Championship encounter at New Road.

Du Plooy and Anuj Dal came together at 320 for 5 and put on an unbroken 258, their record stand for the sixth wicket against any opposition in first-class cricket.

Derbyshire's mammoth total of 578 for 5 declared was their highest against Worcestershire and earned them a first innings lead of 341.

Dal also emulated his achievement of in the corresponding game last summer of scoring a century and taking five wickets in an innings.

Du Plooy was unbeaten on 238 and his marathon knock spanned nine hours and contained two sixes and 25 fours. Dal ended on 141 not out from 193 deliveries with five sixes and 13 fours when the declaration came midway through the afternoon session.

Headingley (third day of four): Yorkshire 550-9d, Gloucestershire 421-8 - Gloucestershire trail by 129 runs with two wickets remaining

Gloucestershire were rewarded with some brotherly love as Ollie Price and older brother Tom batted in entertaining fashion to bat their team to almost certain safety in the ongoing LV= Insurance County Championship clash with Yorkshire at Headingley.

Gloucestershire started a weather-affected day three at 2.15pm on 232 for five replying to Yorkshire's first-innings 550 for 9 declared and closed on 421 for 8, with Ollie Price unbeaten on 97 off 140 balls.

Ollie was one not out at the day's beginning and Tom hadn't even arrived at the crease, with Miles Hammond unbeaten on 84 and about to complete 92 with seven sixes.

When Hammond fell caught at long-on off Dan Moriarty's left-arm spin, leaving the score at 246 for 6, it paved the way for a Gloucestershire game of 'The Price is Right' during a day of only 38 overs.

Ollie, aged 22, was ably supported by Tom – a year older – with 59. They shared a Gloucestershire seventh-wicket record partnership in matches versus Yorkshire, 162 inside 33 overs either side of tea.
