Chris Benjamin has joined Durham on loan from Warwickshire for the remainder of the 2022 LV= Insurance County Championship season.

He replaces wicketkeeper Tom Mackintosh, who has suffered a hand injury, and came straight in for his debut against Sussex on September 20 in the penultimate round of fixtures.

Benjamin, who made his first-class bow for Durham MCCU against Durham back in March 2019, made an immediate impact after signing for Warwickshire in 2021, scoring a century against Lancashire in his first Championship outing.

Mackintosh, 19, has made four first-class appearances for Durham this season, scoring 90 runs and taking 21 catches.

The Scotland Under-19 international replaced Ned Eckersley, who has since left the club, behind the stumps.
