16-year-old Vishmi Gunaratne is likely to open the batting with star player Chamari Athapaththu
Chamari Athapaththu will captain Sri Lanka at the Commonwealth Games, with teenager Vishmi Gunaratne likely to partner the star batter at the top of the order.
Sri Lanka went almost two years without playing a T20I between the conclusion of the T20 World Cup in 2020 and the qualifiers for the upcoming tournament, which will mark the first edition of women's cricket at the multisport event.
Athapaththu was the leading run-scorer in the qualifying competition, scoring 221 runs in just four innings in Kuala Lumpur.
Harshitha Samarawickrama and Nilakshi de Silva were the only other Sri Lankan players to score at least 100 runs.

Veteran off-spinner Oshadi Ranasinghe, who began her international career in 2011, is also included.
