"A well-balanced, solid bat"
RRP: £350, Owzat price: £284.99, Edge: 37mm, Weight: 2lb 8oz
Endorsed by Chris Lynn, the leading run-scorer in the history of the Big Bash League, the PEARLA X is built for powerful, dominating stroke play.
Designed with an extended dynamic sweet spot, massive edges, and subtle concaving, it manages to feel impressively light in hand and through the air.
The traditional full blade profile, mid-swell position supports all-around stroke play, while the pronounced bow and excellent pick-up make it suitable for players across different levels.
During testing, the bat displayed plenty of positives, particularly in terms of balance and weight distribution, which felt light and well-controlled. Overall performance was good across the board, although the middle didn't feel as strong or forgiving as expected, especially when not hitting the middle.
Delivering more ping and forgiveness off the blade were cited as drawbacks, losing a little in performance compared to expectations.
Aesthetically, opinions were mixed: the stickers are decent, but the overall look didn't stand out for everyone. That said, the feel in hand and solid construction impressed, making it a reliable option on performance alone.
While it was not considered a must-buy for all players, it's a well-balanced, solid bat that many said they would confidently recommend despite minor shortcomings.
