PROMOTIONAL FEATURE

Twickenham and Loughborough Carillon CC are two of those clubs. Operating in different environments, with different set-ups, their results tell the same story. That with the right technology in place, you can transform how cricket is seen, shared, and experienced.

Twickenham Cricket Club's live streaming goal was simple: drive player visibility

After trialling two competing products, the club chose NV Play – a decision driven by its integration with PCS Pro scoring, and its flexible camera setups. “NV Play’s multi-camera audio setup gave us far more scope to improve the viewing experience and future-proof how we wanted to stream matches at the club,” explains Twickenham Cricket Club Chair, Eugene Berger.

With angles switching automatically based on scoring input, spectators can now catch key moments with minimal manual input. Adding audio was also a deliberate move. “It captures the feel of the ground, the energy between players, and the game’s natural rhythm. It gives a far better understanding of a match, rather than a silent feed from a single angle. "

High-quality live streaming has helped get more eyes on Twickenham’s game

With consistent and reliable streaming, Twickenham’s viewing numbers have climbed. Thousands watch across a weekend, and the club now has more than 700 YouTube subscribers. “Once viewers trust the stream will work every week, numbers grow naturally,” says Eugene. Their reach now extends beyond local, with viewers in Australia and South Africa regularly tuning in.

Twickenham Cricket Club met – and exceeded – their original goal

Players can now review performances, share highlights, and build their profiles – and NV Play’s video tools have also had an unexpected impact on umpiring. “When decisions are reviewed constructively, the footage has shown that umpires are correct the vast majority of the time,” says Eugene. “It’s reduced tension and improved understanding.”

Loughborough Carillon CC is a proudly community-driven club

Founded in 1956, the club is home to three competitive senior sides, along with thriving junior, women's, and girls’ sections – bringing together hundreds of players, families, and visitors each week. But to stay connected, the community relied largely on WhatsApp or occasional Play-Cricket scoring updates.

In late 2023, the first team played a match that was streamed live. Loughborough Carillon CC immediately saw the benefits, and started a trial with NV Play – the first step in a live streaming journey that would take the club to unexpectedly high heights.

NV Play live streaming has helped the club build its community, and raise its profile

Loughborough Carillon CC now uses its NV Play live streaming setup to film events, festivals, and milestone moments. “It's also been a real learning tool,” says Nitant Desai, Loughborough Carillon CC Treasurer. “We review our batting and bowling to spot areas for improvement, and because every ball is clipped automatically, I can easily create highlights of someone's spell or innings.”

Some streaming moments have had unexpected reach. A run-out clip even went viral – eventually appearing on Sky Sports, BBC, and ABC News, and generating invaluable exposure.

Before live streaming, Loughborough Carillon relied on membership fees for revenue

Now, sponsorship is a major opportunity. The club uses NV Play to create sponsorship packages for local businesses to appear on live streams and highlights – including custom graphics for fours, sixes, and wickets. “We can even provide tangible data, such as how many times their logos appeared on-screen, to demonstrate the value they're getting,” says Nitant. “It's a professional, measurable way for local companies to get involved and support grassroots sport.”

For both these clubs, NV Play live streaming has delivered far more than better match coverage

It’s strengthened communities, created player opportunities, increased visibility, and drawn new sponsors. Proving that the right technology on the field can change the game in more ways than one.
