Teamwear has become a buzzword around cricket clubs, with players and spectators wanting to do their club proud, wearing smart playing and causal gear that looks the part.

There are a number of brands operating in this space, but rarely do they boast two decades' experience or offer a bespoke kit that is made in England. It is this unique combination that sets Serious Cricket apart.

Marketing manager Tom Mahoney has worked for the brand, which was founded during the famous Ashes summer of 2005, for a number of years and is rightly proud of the pedigree of Serious Cricket.

"We have worked with over 1,000 clubs to date and it is phenomenal how quickly we have grown over the years," he says.

"I think one of the keys to our success is that we look to build lasting partnerships with clubs. We are not in it for a quick sell – we want to work with the club, help them to develop their clothing range and even provide the opportunity for the club to generate much-needed revenue through sales.

"Clubs love the fact that teamwear is delivered in just five to seven working days and that we really know our stuff. Cricket clubs are very different to one another with different setups, but with one thing in common - that they predominantly rely on volunteers. We have the experience to ensure that each club receives the best possible service and the reassurance of a dedicated account manager. This is illustrated by our rating of four-and-a-half out of five for customer service and being awarded Feefo Gold Trusted Award 2022 for our outstanding service levels."

That rating is no mean feat in the teamwear sector, where some businesses set up as re-sellers, giving little control over hitting deadlines. There are nightmare stories out there, where clubs receive their kit in time fo the last match of the season rather than the first.

Mahoney explains that due to the changing demands of the game, with a marked shift at club cricket level to coloured clothing, there is a need to offer unique kit designs. Serious Cricket hold the key to meeting this demand thanks to the fact that their bespoke kit is made in the UK.

Mahoney continues: "Our customer service does set us apart but allied to that, clubs also love how flexible we are. You can either choose your shirts from pre-existing templates, or start completely from scratch with something unique. It might be a tribute to someone who has sadly passed away or a more overt nod to the sponsor of your club – the choice really is yours, but we are very happy to advise along the way.

"That flexibility also extends to the ordering process. The initial order for kit will usually be made and despatched within three-four weeks. Once that has been made, there is then the option to order additional kit – with no minimum order required. It might be sorting a playing shirt for a new player that has just moved into the area mid-season for example. Crucially, that kit will be with you within a week."
