The Big Bash 2024: Start date, where to buy tickets and TV channels

All you need to know about the 2024/25 Big Bash League in Australia

The Big Bash is a T20 cricket league featuring eight teams across Australia and it is set to return in December.

The women's version of the tournament is now underway and you can follow The Cricketer's Big Bash coverage here. The men's version of the tournament will begin in December.

The KFC Big Bash will be shown free on Channel 7 in Australia and on Sky Sports in the UK. You can sign up for Sky Sports cricket here or get a NowTV pass to watch the matches here.

The teams include current champions Brisbane Heat, five-time holder Perth Scorchers, Melbourne rivals Stars and Renegades, Sydney sides Sixers and Thunder, and Adelaide Strikers and Hobart Hurricanes.

Every team has confirmed a squad of 14 players for the 2024/25 Big Bash tournament. You can see the full team lists here.

The men's KFC Big Bash in Australia begins on Sunday 15 December (8.15am UK time) in Perth as the Scorchers welcome Melbourne Stars in the opening game.

The regular season ends on 19 January with the Melbourne Stars again, this time against Hobart Hurricanes at Melbourne Cricket Ground. The knockout finals begin on Tuesday 21 January with the final taking place on Monday 27 January 2025.

Tickets for the Big Bash are on sale now on Ticketek here. At the time of writing there are tickets available for most games but knockout game tickets and venues will be announced once the regular season is over. Early Bird Pricing for regular season games ends 11:59pm (venue local time) 14 November 2024.

Fans who want to attend multiple games can buy a membership via the club websites.
