Scorecard

Perth Scorchers secured their spot - and home advantage - in the BBL12 final after defeating Sydney Sixers by seven wickets in a high-voltage Qualifier at the Optus Stadium.

Ashton Turner delivered a captain's knock to help his side chase down 152 in the penultimate over, scoring 84 runs off 47 balls (nine fours, one six).

The Sixers, however, were left to rue failing to dismiss Turner on 47, Dan Christian and Josh Philippe leaving a catch for one another - a common theme across both innings, with Aaron Hardie and Andrew Tye also guilty of missing chances.

Turner came together with Cameron Bancroft in the fifth over after three quick powerplay wickets from Sean Abbott (3 for 25) had reduced the Scorchers to 22 for 3.

However, they rotated the strike rate well to turn the tables on the Sixers before Turner burst into life following the missed chance in the 13th to see his side home with time to spare.

He and Bancroft put on 132 off 87 balls for the fourth wicket, with Bancroft also bringing up his half-century as he finished unbeaten on 53 (45).

Earlier, Moises Henriques was left to question his decision to bat after watching his side slump to 42 for 3 inside nine overs. Jason Behrendorff (2 for 17) picked up two wickets upfront while David Payne removed Steve Smith caught and bowled on his way to 3 for 33.

Henriques (58) and Jordan Silk (47 not out) bailed their side out, putting on 88 runs for the fourth wicket, but following the former's departure in the 17th over, the Sixers lost their way and rather limped to 151 for 8 at close.

With this victory, Perth Scorchers progressed to their eighth BBL final - of which they've won four - while the Sixers will have another chance to make it to the finals when they host either Brisbane Heat or Melbourne Renegades on Thursday.
