Perth: Brisbane Heat 171-9, Perth Scorchers 173-3 - Perth Scorchers won by seven wickets

Scorecard

Perth Scorchers returned to the summit of the Big Bash League table after easing past Brisbane Heat.

Cameron Bancroft smashed an unbeaten 76, reaching a 12th T20 fifty, from 48 deliveries.

The former Australia Test opener put on 111 for the second wicket with Aaron Hardie, who made his second BBL fifty on the day of his 24th birthday.

Ashton Turner (23 not out) helped polish off the chase with 22 balls still to be bowled, to send Scorchers back to the top of the BBL table, returning to winning ways after a setback against Sydney Thunder.

Heat, meanwhile, were forced to settle for 171 for 9 from their 20 overs after being pegged back at the death.

Colin Munro (45) in his final appearance before departing for the International League T20, Josh Brown (34) and Sam Billings (27) helped them to 129 for 3 in the 15th over.

But the tail failed to guide them to a score in excess of 200, which would have tested the Scorchers in the second half of the game.

Michael Neser (3), Mark Steketee (5) and Mitchell Swepson (0) were all removed in the 20th over by Andrew Tye as just 25 came off the final 24 balls.

The result leaves Heat seventh in the table with the worst net run rate (-0.943) in the competition, having collected two wins from eight matches.
