Perth Scorchers have completed their overseas signings ahead of the new Big Bash campaign, with the acquisition of two English T20 stars.

Batsman Laurie Evans and allrounder Brydon Carse have been picked up by the Scorchers and will join New Zealand international Colin Munro at the club for the 2021-22 season.

Evans has plenty of franchise cricket experience, having been involved in both the Caribbean Premier League and Pakistan Super League.

He boasts a career strike rate of 134 in T20s, with a batting average of 34.

The Surrey batsman also featured for Oval Invincibles in The Hundred's inaugural season in 2021.

Carse, who made his debut for England during the summer one-day international series against Pakistan, offers raw pace with the ball and power with the bat.

The Durham man, 26, will be making his first appearance in an overseas franchise competition.

Evans said: “I am chuffed to bits to be given the opportunity to play for the Scorchers this summer, they are a really successful team in the Big Bash.

“I think over my career I have prided myself on being there at the end and winning games of cricket in tight situations, that’s what I’ll be looking to do.

“The Big Bash is certainly a tournament the world looks at as one of the biggest and I’m just really grateful to be given the opportunity to be a part of it.”

Carse added: “I’m hoping to create some match-winning performances with both bat and ball, I like to think I play my cricket with a smile on my face and enjoy it.

“The squad has a lot of depth in all departments and I’m very confident that we can go all the way - it’s exciting.”

Perth Scorchers squad: Ashton Agar, Cameron Bancroft, Jason Behrendorff, Aaron Hardie, Peter Hatzoglou, Josh Inglis, Matthew Kelly, Mitch Marsh, Lance Morris, Kurtis Patterson, Jhye Richardson, Ashton Turner, Andrew Tye, Colin Munro, Brydon Carse, Laurie Evans
