Sydney Sixers have re-signed Joe Denly
Joe Denly will return to Sydney Sixers for the upcoming Big Bash campaign.
The Kent batsman, who is under consideration for a place in England's winter tour squads, first joined the franchise midway through last season and contributed 146 runs in four innings.
He will go back for the start of the new term, however, joining up with his Sixers team-mates ahead of their opening fixture against Perth Scorchers on December 23.
"The Big Bash has always been a competition that I’ve wanted to play in and I’m very proud to be part of it. I had a ball of it last time and I’m looking forward to it again this year," he said.
Denly has been in fine form for Kent
"(Expectations are) to build upon what we created at the end of last season and push for trophies."
Denly, the leading runscorer in the history of the T20 Blast, has enjoyed a renaissance in recent years, in all forms of cricket and with both bat and ball.
"He made and incredible impression within our group as an opener, but also offers us another spin bowling option," Sixers head coach Greg Shipperd said.
"Having watched Joe’s form in domestic cricket in England, it’s clear he is at the top of his game right now. He is an all-round package that we are extremely excited about."
