Melbourne: Brisbane Heat 155-7, Perth Scorchers 156-4 - Perth Scorchers won by 6 wickets

Top of the table Perth Scorchers rounded off their group matches in style with a convincing six-wicket victory over Brisbane Heat.

Welcoming Austraila trio Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh and Ashton Agar back to their XI for this top versus bottom clash at Melbourne's Docklands Stadium, it was T20 World Cup final hero Marsh who starred.

Demonstrating his trademark monstrous hitting, he scored 59 runs off 34 balls before scooping the ball into his helmet and getting caught behind by Jimmy Peirson.

Scorchers skipper Ashton Turner (18 off 14) and Aaron Hardie (6 off 1) saw their home with eight balls to spare while Colin Munro and Kurtis Patterson chipped in with 24 and 26 runs, respectively.

Michael Neser, making just his second appearance of the tournament following his Ashes fairy tale, bowled three overs and removed the dangerous Inglis in the sixth over. Mitchell Swepson (2 for 19) and Matthew Kuhnemann were the other wicket-takers.

Earlier in the match, Max Bryant formed the backbone of Brisbane Heat's innings, scoring a superb 81 from 56 deliveries.

Sam Heazlett was dimissed in contraversial fashion, caught behind to Inglis with replays showing no noise as the ball passed the bat, while Chris Lynn, Ben Duckett and Nathan McSweeney all fell for single-figure scores as the Heat slipped to 94 for 4 in the 14th.

However, Peirson made a welcome return to form with the bat, striking an unbeaten 31 from 19 to help propel Brisbane Heat beyond the 150-mark.

Peter Hatzoglou (2 for 17) and Jason Behrendorff (2 for 25) picked up two wickets apiece while Agar, Marsh and Andrew Tye were the other wicket-takers.
