What's the match?

Sydney Sixers will host Adelaide Strikers in match 45 of the 2022/23 Big Bash, the 12th edition of the tournament.

When is it taking place?

The game is scheduled to start at 7.15pm local time (8.15am GMT) on Tuesday, January 17.

Where is the match being played?

The game will be played at the C.ex International Stadium in Coffs Harbour.

Who's got the form?

Sydney Sixers came out the victors in a top-of-the-table clash against Perth Scorchers by six runs on Sunday, with Josh Philippe top-scoring with 54, supported by a returning Steve Smith with 36.

Sixers' pace bowlers steered them to victory with three wickets for Sean Abbott and two apiece for Hayden Kerr and Dan Christian.

Adelaide Strikers had a surprise loss in their last match against Brisbane Heat. Harry Conway took three wickets, well supported by leg-spinner Cameron Boyce. Restricting the Heat to a chasable total, the strikers once again relied on Matt Short and Chris Lynn who couldn't get them over the line, leaving them clinging onto their position in fourth.

What's the key match-up?

Both sides' top-fours bolster an abundance of domestic and international experience. Sydney Sixers are able to call on the experience of Smith and Moses Henriques. And while Josh Philippe has struggled this season, he will fancy his chances against Strikers' attack after coming into form against Perth.

Adelaide Strikers will look to Short and Australia internationals Travis Head and Alex Carey, with Lynn no longer available.

Short, who will be eyeing up a maiden call-up to the Australia side in 2023, will look to take the attack to Sixers in the powerplay as he has done so successfully this year.

What's the weather forecast?

A warm day of scattered showers is expected in Coffs Harbour, with highs of around 27 degrees Celsius.

What is the team news?

Adelaide Strikers are missing both Peter Siddle and Chris Lynn - two major absentees. Siddle is managing a back issue, while Lynn - the leading run-scorer in the competition - has departed for the ILT20.

What are the squads?
