Marvel Stadium: Hobart Hurricanes 206-5, Melbourne Renegades 121– Hobart Hurricanes won by 85 runs
Ben McDermott became the first player to hit consecutive BBL hundreds as the Hobart Hurricanes comfortably defeated Melbourne Renegades.
Having made 110 against Adelaide Strikers two days earlier, McDermott hit nine fours and nine sixes in his 65-ball innings on his way to the third highest BBL score (127).
The Renegades lost regular wickets in response, as Tom Rogers took 3 for 24 to join Sean Abbott as the leading wicket-taker in BBL 11 with 12.
Third-placed Hobart move within four points of second while the Renegades remain bottom after their fifth straight loss.
Melbourne started well, with Reece Topley dismissing Matthew Wade (0) and D’Arcy Short (5) in the powerplay, reducing the visitors to 17 for 2.
Opener McDermott put on 35 with Harry Brook (11), but Hobart could only reach 66 for 3 at the halfway stage.

Yet, McDermott transformed the game in the 14th over, hitting Kane Richardson for five successive boundaries as slower balls were clouted and quicker ones paddled away.
With Tim David (30 off nine balls) also striking it very well, the Hurricanes hit 125 off the final eight overs, with McDermott run out off the last ball.
Topley finished with a very respectable 2 for 17, while Richardson’s figures were an eye-watering 0 for 63.
The Renegades daunting chase started poorly, with Rogers removing Aaron Finch (1), Nic Maddinson (3) and Mackenzie Harvey (1) in the powerplay.
A 38-run stand between Sam Harper (57) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (21) steadied proceedings and secured the Bash Boost bonus point.
However, Sandeep Lamichhane dismissed Fraser-McGurk and Mohammad Nabi (2) in the eighth over to leave Melbourne 73 for 5 and needing a miracle.
And when Harper was run out for a 35-ball 57, the Renegades terrible run was guaranteed to continue.
Alongside Rogers, Lamichhane (3-32) and Nathan Ellis (0-14 from three overs) impressed with the ball for Hobart.
