Archer, the Barbados-born all-rounder who will qualify for England via the residency rule in four years' time, dismissed the Heat's Ben Cutting for four with a nonchalant grab off his own bowling at the Gabba
Jofra Archer provided another reminder of his exceptional talents with a terrific one-handed catch in Wednesday's Big Bash clash between Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat.
Archer, the Barbados-born all-rounder who will qualify for England via the residency rule in four years' time, dismissed the Heat's Ben Cutting for four with a nonchalant grab off his own bowling at the Gabba.
Cutting had struck the ball sweetly, and must have been expecting to watch it fly to the long-off boundary, but Archer had other ideas.
Sticking his right arm straight up, the 22-year-old casually plucked the cherry from the air before celebrating with a swagger.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan was quick to sing Archer's praises on social media.
Vaughan wrote on Twitter: "This kid is fantastic .. I reckon his IPL deal will be a huge one .. Doesn’t qualify for England for 4 more years .. unless the ECB change I reckon he might be lost to T20 leagues rather than see him in the Test arena."
Ex-England seamer Alex Tudor added: "I think (Archer) is my fav cricketer at the moment the lad just keeps you glued to the tv."
Archer finished of figures of 1-39 from his four overs as the Hurricanes won a nail-biting encounter by three runs.
