Hobart Hurricanes allrounder Jofra Archer has been in the news again

Jofra Archer continues to grab the headlines with his all-round ability in the Big Bash.

The Barbados-born allrounder, who will qualify for English citizenship in 2022-23, produced an athletic during Hobart Hurricanes’ clash with Adelaide Strikers.

Batting first, Adelaide put Hobart to the sword with Alex Carey (100) and Jake Weatherald (65) putting on 171 without loss as the Strikers posted 187 for 4.

Archer was involved in all four of the wickets to fall. Carey and Jake Lehmann were both bowled, Jonathan Wells trapped lbw, but it was the run out of Weatherald that caught the eye.

Fielding off his own bowling, the youngster quickly swivelled while flat on his back before throwing down a single stump.

It was yet another reminder of the exciting talent Archer possesses.

Sadly for the allrounder, his excellence couldn’t help Hurricanes to victory. Strikers successfully defended their total, with Hobart finishing 11 runs shy on 176 for four in their chase.
