The 32-year-old had spent the last three campaigns with Dhaka Dynamites, twice finishing as a runner-up.
Allrounder Shakib Al Hasan has returned to Rangpur Raiders for the seventh edition of the Bangladesh Premier League.
The 32-year-old played for the franchise in 2015-16 before spending three seasons with Dhaka Dynamites, whom he had also previously represented under their former name as the Gladiators in 2012-13.
Shakib won the competition in 2016-17 with the Dynamites and reached the final in each of the following two seasons.
In 2018-19, Shakib was named player of the tournament for a third time despite his side finishing as runners-up for the second straight season.

He joins Dwayne Bravo and Mohammad Nabi in the squad led by Tom Moody, for the competition which begins on December 5.
Coming as the Dynamites' icon player, the move will force Bangladesh captain Mastrafe Mortaza to find a new side.
Dhaka had pre-empted the Bangladesh star's exit by acquiring England captain Eoin Morgan and South Africa's David Miller for the new campaign.
"Tom Moody and I have worked together in Hyderabad," Shakib told the media.
"He [Moody] will do most of the work, my responsibility will be to get the best out of everyone.
"I have performed my duties as a captain before. I know most of them, so I think there won't be big problem."
