Pucovski, who has battled back to form after time out of the game for mental health reasons, will compete against Joe Burns for an opening batsmen berth alongside David Warner
Wil Pucovski's stunning, run-laden start to the Sheffield Shield season has resulted in a call-up to the Australia Test squad.
Pucovski, who has made double centuries in each of his Victoria appearances in the first-class competition this year, is one of five players without Test caps in the 17-man party named by Australia for the upcoming series.
Allrounder Cameron Green, legspinner Mitch Swepson, seamer Sean Abbott and Michael Neser are also picked.

Cricket Australia selector Trevor Hohns said Warner himself would be consulted about his partner.

"Of course we talk to David, he's a very senior player, he's very experienced and it's important he's comfortable as well, provided we are, of course, with the person he opens with," Hohns said.
"It goes a long way in forming an opening partnership. You have to be comfortable with your partner and we certainly do consult players on such issues."
The four-match campaign is due to begin on December 17.
A white-ball squad, for both one-day internationals and T20s against India, was also announced on Thursday.
Test squad: Tim Paine (captain), David Warner, Will Pucovski, Joe Burns, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Matthew Wade, Cameron Green, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, James Pattinson, Michael Neser, Mitchell Swepson, Sean Abbott.
