Several members of the India squad have voiced concerns around the mental health challenges of the bubble environment, while the location of the fourth Test is uncertain as India are reluctant to travel from Sydney to Brisbane
Australian bowler Nathan Lyon has voiced his support for bio-secure bubbles, stating that it is a “very small sacrifice” to make in order to play cricket.
His comments come after five India players – Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw and Navdeep Saini – were placed into isolation after video footage emerged of the group eating indoors at a restaurant on New Year’s Day.
Several members of the India squad have also voiced concerns around the mental health challenges of the bubble environment, whilst the location of the fourth Test is uncertain as India are reluctant to travel from Sydney to Brisbane.
Lyon, however, believes players just need to "suck it up" and stop complaining.
“I know there’s a few people from both squads who have been in a bubble for close to six months now, but in my eyes, it’s a very small sacrifice for us to get out there and play the game that we love and put a lot of smiles on a lot of people’s faces around the world,” he said.

“It [the bio-secure environment] has all been okay in my eyes. We just need to suck it up and get on with it. People make mistakes, we get that.
“But it’s just making sure we go out there and worry about what’s happening and try and prepare the best way we can for a Test match, and not look too much into anything else that the media’s blowing up.
“We’ve got to listen to the advice of our medical people, here at Cricket Australia we’re lucky we’ve got an amazing medical team but let’s just suck it up and get on with it and stop complaining.”
Commenting on the status of the fourth Test, Lyon continued: “I’m not even thinking about not playing at the Gabba. Everyone keeps talking about the Gabba Test match but there’s a massive Test match in a couple of days at the SCG and that’s where all our focus is at the moment.”
The third Test between Australia and India starts on Wednesday (January 6) in Sydney with the series poised at 1-1, before the two sides travel to Brisbane for the fourth and final Test which is due to start on January 15.
