Justin Langer is heavily tipped to be the next Australia head coach
Cricket Australia decision-makers will meet on Friday to confirm the process that is expected to lead to the appointment of Justin Langer as the country’s next head coach.
Langer is reportedly set to succeed Darren Lehmann, who stood down from the role at the end of the controversial series in South Africa.
The former Australia opening batsman is highly regarded following five years with Western Australia and Perth Scorchers, with whom he has won two one-day trophies and three Big Bash crowns.

A Cricket Australia spokesman insisted that the identity of Lehmann’s replacement had not yet been decided.
“The process to be undertaken for the appointment of a new Australian men’s head coach will be discussed and agreed at the CA board meeting this Friday," a CA spokesperson said in a statement.
"No appointment has been made, and nor will any candidate be put to the board for ratification on Friday.
"We expect to have a clearer understanding of the approach and appointment timelines following this meeting."
